Founded in 1909, OSI Group is a privately owned meat processing company. OSI Group is headquartered in Aurora, Illinois and they have 65 facilities that staff more then twenty thousand employees based out of seventeen different countries.

In 2006 OSI Group acquired Baho Food Group that was based out of Germany and the Netherlands. Baho Food was a meat processing company that was also involved in other food service products that are sold for retail. Baho was comprised of five subsidiary companies; these firms had about 60 years of experience in the industry dealing with deli meats, convenience foods and snack foods. Baho and its subsidiaries serviced over 18 countries in Europe. The acquisition of Baho by OSI helped to strengthen OSI’s European presence.
Chicago based Tyson Food plant was purchased by OSI Group in June of 2016 for $7.4 million. In NOvember of 2015 Tyson had publicly announced that they would be losing 480 employees due to the plants need to shut down. By the time OSI Group acquired Tyson they had an operating staff of only 250 employees. OSI offered employment to the remaining Tyson staff. This back of the yards Chicago area facility was used to increase OSI’s manufacturing needs.
Based out of Denver Colorado, Flagship Europe serviced the UK foodservice market. Flagship Europe provided frozen poultry, pies, sauces, mayonnaise, and dressings. They had acquired European based Calder Foods which produced food to go options as well as mayonnaise dips and dressings. In 2016 OSI Industries acquired Flagship Europe which helped them to further their marketing outreach in the United Kingdom. This acquisition helps OSI Group to further meet their customers needs with broadening the food products they can provide to the foodservice industry.
