This one is for all you brides-to-be out there, especially those of you feeling a tiny bit stressed by your wedding planning activities. iWedding Deluxe has to be the most thoroughly complete wedding planning guide ever. I can’t squeeze all the cool features into one little review, but I’ll tell you as much as I can.
iWedding Deluxe will walk you through the entire process of planning your wedding, all the way through the honeymoon. Get started by entering your names, budget, and wedding date. The home screen has a countdown clock, so you’ll know just how much time you have before the big day.
The bottom half of the screen contains a notebook with your to-do list, budget, and inspiration photo album all easily accessible. By default, the to-do list displays with the three most pressing tasks, so you can see what you need to take care of in the near future. Tap the arrow to go to the complete list, and you can see tasks divided into groups by time-frame. So items to complete 9-12 months before the wedding are all grouped together. You can edit this list, adding custom items, deleting items, and move items to a different time period. No detail has been forgotten, from booking the officiant to reserving catering to choosing favors. Each item can be checked off as you complete it.
The app also has a section for the people involved in your wedding. Here you can keep track of your guest list, members of the bridal party, and family members. You can also track RSVPs, and even create seating plans and record gifts received.
The Details section of the app is really useful for all the little details, as well as keeping track of potential vendors. You can enter detailed information about these items, including cost. Once you decide on an item or service, you can even deduct the price from your budget. Details are also somewhat customizable; you can remove any items you don’t need, and choose others from a list of modules, but I didn’t see a way to add a custom module. I don’t think they’ve forgotten anything, however, so this is probably not even necessary.
Lastly, there is a guide to help you get started, complete with all sorts of etiquette information. The Guide also includes an Inspire me section, a locator to help you find stores and services near you, and an RSS feed of wedding news.
While I haven’t actually used the app to plan a wedding, in looking through all the sections I really can’t find anything missing. All the details are there, and you can customize it to keep and use only what you need.
Honestly, I’m really jealous of all you wedding planning people. I would have loved this when I was planning my wedding back in the day. It’s so much nicer than my tattered notebook with all my scribbles, business cards, and crumpled receipts spilling out all over the place. No matter what size your budget, iWedding Deluxe will really help keep you on track while planning one of the most important events of your life. It’s ridiculously cheap, at only $7.99. I have to give it five jars of applesauce!
